Skin can feel things. Put a feather, some ice and a cup on the palm!

Gently! The feather was felt by nerve endings. They hide in the skin all over your body.

Cold! Some nerve endings in the skin feel only cold.

Warm! Other nerve endings feel warmth and tell the brain straight away that the cup is hot.

Fingertips have the most nerve endings, so we feel everything with our fingers. And this is a real fingertip pattern.
