Cutters, tearers, grinders

Every tooth has its own job. Feed Growney! Take the apple to the teeth that bite off a piece.

Yes, the front teeth! They are flat and sharp like a knife. Bite, swipe your finger down!

The bits went to the molars. They are wide and bumpy. Draw circles with your finger to grind them.

Now it is soft mush. Take it up to the throat to swallow!

Gulp! But dried meat is tough. Take it to the teeth that hold and tear.

The canines! They are sharp like a tiger's, only smaller. Pull the meat to the side, again and again!

Torn off! Now grind the bits with the molars and swallow.

Yum! Now a walnut, already out of its shell. Take it to the wide teeth at the back.

The molars! Draw circles with your finger, and the nut turns into mush.

These teeth can't do that. Try other ones.

Front teeth cut, canines tear, molars grind. Together they turn food into mush that is easy to swallow.
