Journeys: Mouth, teeth and tongue. Stop 2

Wobbly tooth

This is an X-ray of a jaw. See the big teeth underneath? They are waiting their turn. Wobble the baby tooth with your finger!

It wobbles! A new tooth pushes from below, and the baby tooth's root melts away.

Out it came! A grown-up tooth will grow in its place. Wobble the other one.

There are 20 baby teeth and 32 grown-up teeth. Grown-up teeth last your whole life, so look after them.
