Journeys: Heart. Stop 7

Animal hearts

Animal hearts beat at different speeds. Put each animal where the heart beats just as fast.

Think about it. A big animal has a big, slow heart, and a tiny one has a small, fast heart.

A whale's heart weighs as much as two grown-ups, and underwater it beats only a few times a minute.

An elephant's heart beats about 30 times a minute, slower than yours.

Your heart beats about 90 times a minute.

A mouse is tiny, but its heart races at more than 500 beats a minute!

A hummingbird's heart beats up to 1200 times a minute! The smaller the heart, the faster it beats.
